EXTREME TAKE US ALIVE TOUR 2008
EXTREME will make their much-anticipated return to the stage this summer in support of Saudades de Rock (pronounced "sow-dodge"), their first studio album in thirteen years. The multi-platinum, Boston-bred band's 2008 'TAKE US ALIVE' world tour gets underway on July 29th
The iconic rock foursome – vocalist GARY CHERONE, guitarist NUNO BETTENCOURT, bassist PAT BADGER and new drummer KEVIN FIGUEIREDO – will be supported by King's X on all North American dates. Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp will offer additional support dates.
The Grammy-nominated EXTREME have released four studio albums to date, plus a greatest hits set. Selling over 10 million records worldwide on the strength of multiple world tours, the group achieved a 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1991 with "More Than Words". Culled from their 1990 multi-platinum album, EXTREME II: Pornograffitti, the disc also produced the Top 5 hit "Hole Hearted."
Although these two acoustic hits brought the band great mainstream success, they overshadowed the band's trademark sound: a mix of hard rock funk in the spirit and style of their predecessors in Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen and Van Halen. Fueled by BETTENCOURT's signature guitar flights and CHERONE's resonant vocals, the band's socially conscious lyrics set them apart from their peers. |

Its with unbelievably deep regret that I must announce that Cinderella's Tom Keifer's left vocal cord has succumbed a medical emergency, thereby making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future.
Tom felt his throat give way last week (6/11) finishing the set in pre-production rehearsals, went to his vocal doctor (Dr. Stephen Mitchell) in Nashville, and was told the grim news. ÊIn the short term, Tom's Dr. told him it would be two to three weeks before the swelling and damage would recede to a point to where an assessment can be made as to whether surgery will be required.
Consequently, and again, most regretfully, we have no choice but to postpone the upcoming Cinderella tour until such time as Tom is ready to tour again.

Dave Brubeck is one of the most well-known jazz pianists of all time. The classic Dave Brubeck Quartet featuring Paul Desmond's liquid saxophone lasted for 17 years, during which time they produced the first ever million-selling jazz tune (Take Five), toured the world many times, and introduced enormous numbers of people to the jazz sound. But Brubeck is not one to get stuck in a rut, and since the original quartet disbanded over thirty six years ago, he has continued to develop as a musician, exploring new avenues in composition and performance. For over six decades, this important "Master Musician" is still touring and recording.
We are proud to present this living legend in concert, ...in the park, and under the stars! |

Bridging the gulf between rock n’ roll and classical music, conductor/arranger Brent Havens takes
the podium to present The Music of The Eagles, a program he scored to extend the listening
experience of The Eagles’ timeless tunes.
Performed by an orchestra and amplified by a full rock band and accompanied by singers Terry
Brock, Randy Jackson and John Hines, creator Brent Havens guest conducts the ensemble as
they capture The Eagles’ amazing vocal harmonies surrounded by the orchestra in a concert rich
with melodies and lush harmonies like you’ve never heard before.
“Our concept for The Music of The Eagles was to take the music as close to the originals as we
could, keeping those wonderful harmonies intact and then add some colors to enhance what the
original group had done,” says Havens. “The wonderful thing with an orchestra is that you have
an entire palette to call upon. The band is reproducing what the Eagles did on the albums, as
closely as possible, and then having an orchestra behind the band gives the music a richness, a
whole different feel, a greater sense of depth.”

Come join Difford, Tilbrook & the Band for an unforgettable evening of Squeeze Hits.
With the perfect combination of Chris Difford's lyrics and Glenn
Tilbrook's melodies Squeeze created some of the most memorable and
most loved songs of any generation of songwriters, with their
indecently adept ability for narrating a good domestic yarn over a
suitably pithy couplet - their carefully crafted inventive songs are
utterly timeless.
It should come as no surprise then, that many of today’s young
bands, ranging from The View to Razorlight to Fountains of Wayne to
The Feeling and Kasabian have all cited them as a major influence.

Little River Band was the first Australian band to successfully conquer foreign markets from an Australian base.
Within eight months of their birth, LRB had already scored three Australian Top 20 singles and two Top Ten albums. In 1976, after their self-titled debut album was released in the USA, the long grind of 13 US tours in eight years had begun.
By 1982 they became the only act – from anywhere – to have a top ten US single for six consecutive years.
Headlining their own major shows in America, and touring internationally with the likes of the Doobie Brothers, Supertramp, America, and the Eagles was a huge learning curve that honed LRB into one of the finest live bands in the world.

POCO
Featuring Very Special Guest,
Founding Member -
Richie Furay
Poco was one of the first groups to pioneer Country-Rock music. The harmonies and
instruments of Country mixed with Rock'n'Roll rhythms, paved the way for
supergroups like the Eagles and while hits for Poco were few, their influence runs
deep in both Country and Pop music. Richie Furay (b. May 9, 1944, Yellow Springs,
Ohio) and Jim Messina (b. December 5, 1947, Maywood, California) formed Poco
after Buffalo Springfield broke up in 1968 when Stephen Stills and Neil Young left the
group. Rusty Young (b. February 23, 1946, Long Beach, California) had come from
Colorado to play pedal steel guitar on the last Buffalo Springfield album. Furay loved
what Rusty played on his song, Kind Woman and invited Young to join Poco.
Auditions were held for the other band members and among the hopeful was Gram
Parsons. He played with Poco for a few weeks but things didn’t work out and he left the
band. Eventually Rusty Young suggested bringing in two of his friends from Colorado
to join the band. Drummer George Grantham (b. November 20, 1947, Cordell,
Oklahoma) and bass player Randy Meisner (b. March 8, 1947, Scottsbluff, Nebraska)
moved to California and signed on as Poco’s rhythm section.

Pure Prairie League
Their rich history goes back to 1969 in the Southern Ohio area
where a group of young musicians initially played cover tunes at
local bars. Original member Craig Fuller and early member
George Powell were beginning to stir their song writing abilities
around the time original drummer Tom McGail happened to
catch a late night 1939 Errol Flyn flick called Dodge City. The
movie's Pure Prairie League was the woman's temperance union
attempting to clean up Kansas' most lawless town.
RCA signed Pure Prairie League after seeing them play in
Cleveland, Ohio. The first album was released the following year.
The most memorable thing about it was the Norman Rockwell
cover from a 1927 Saturday Evening Post cover, " recalls Mike
Reilly.

Firefall
The genealogy and musical roots of FIREFALL run deep into the fertile soil
of American rock and folk rock music. It began with Woodie Guthrie and
later Bob Dylan, evolving into the Byrds and the Buffalo Springfield. The
genre established by these luminaries continued with Crosby, Stills and
Nash, Manassas, the Band, Neil Young, the Eagles, Poco, Loggins and
Messina, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Gram Parsons and Emmy Lou Harris,
Dan Folgelberg, America and Firefall. Many of these participants mingled
in the studio and on tour. Individually and collectively they created a
sound that changed the world’s musical landscape. FIREFALL is one of
the few surviving bands of this genre, remaining true to it’s founding
vision and roots despite personnel changes over it’s thirty year history.
The band transcends and embraces many industry labels - rock, soft
rock, country rock, easy listening, unplugged, Americana and
contemporary country.

The newest inductees into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Blondie emerged as the great pop icons of New York's celebrated late '70s new wave punk scene by defying easy categorization. They scored their first major hits with reggae, rock/disco and hip-hop songs. They wrote great rock hooks and brilliant ironic lyrics. They had the hippest clothes and the coolest hair. Debbie went from the pages of Punk magazine to being on the cover of just about every mainstream publication on the newsstands. |
